Variety of Entertainment for Panoply 2005

Wednesday April 6, 2005
Panoply has an exciting line-up of talent for the April 22-24 weekend in Big Spring Park. Here's the Schedule for the Weekend. Just a few acts to watch: Deborah Henson-Conant Friday with her electric harp, FLY Dance Company, a cross between street dance and classical choreography, on Saturday and THREE MEN and a TENOR® on Sunday.

THREE MEN and a TENOR®—Sunday, April 24 @ 5:45pm on BellSouth/Cingular Wireless Stage

A cappella never sounded so sweet! This high-energy quartet brings music, message, and wholesome fun. In 1992, they were brought together at Michigan State University thinking that they would only perform on stage once. Since then, they perform in over one hundred schools a year to encourage students to follow their dreams. The group performs everything from sentimental favorites to rock-n-roll without any musical accompaniment. Come listen to vocalists in their purest form!

FLY Dance Company—Saturday, April 23 @ 12:30pm on State Farm Insurance® Valley Jubilee Stage

This nationally touring dance company is an artistic phenomenon that crosses street dance with classical choreography principles creating a visual spectacle. FLY not only puts on shows for hundreds around the United States, they also bring messages to children about staying away from drugs and how to handle peer pressure. They appeal to an eclectic crowd and are sure to “wow” any audience.

Deborah Henson-Conant—Friday, April 22 @ 7:30pm on BellSouth/Cingular Wireless Showcase Stage

This is an off the charts performance that incorporates blues, folk, jazz, and Celtic music all played on an electric…harp? That’s right! As a child, Deborah wanted to play a cool instrument, so she turned the harp into something that could rock! She will transform the way you think about the harp and how it should be played as she straps on an electric harp and dances around the stage commanding your attention and participation. You will be clapping your hands and stomping your feet as you encounter this amazing talent.
