It is with great regret that Broadway Theatre League has to announce that the brand new production of Doctor Dolittle, intended to run November 4-6, 2005, has been cancelled. Official word from the tour was that a lack of ticket sales prompted the cancellation. Thirty-seven cities lost this innovative family spectacular and ironically out of the 37 cities Huntsville, AL had sold the most tickets. Obviously, the next question is where do we go from here? Broadway Theatre goers will now have a chance to see Cathy Riby in "Peter Pan" November 11-12, 2005.

Broadway Theatre League has been able to arrange a show substitution. Peter Pan starring Cathy Rigby will be coming to Huntsville, November 11-12, 2005. We were very fortunate to get another family oriented show to replace Doctor Dolittle.

Patrons with tickets for Friday Evening and Saturday Performances will be able to use their same tickets from Doctor Dolittle. Patrons who have Sunday tickets will have to be reseated in one of the other performances with best available seats.

Broadway Theatre League knows that this is not the ideal situation but it is the best possible solution that was available to BTL and its patrons. If patrons need to be reseated to another performance, please contact Broadway Theatre League immediately. Broadway Theatre League will be reseating everyone until October 14th. At that time BTL will have to put single tickets on sale for Peter Pan.

If patrons are not able to attend Peter Pan Broadway Theatre League will be more than willing to provide patrons with a tax credit or a refund. If patrons need to request a tax credit or a refund, please mail your Doctor Dolittle tickets along with your name, phone number, address and your request in writing. When calling Broadway Theatre League please remember hundreds of patrons will be calling and there are only four phone lines, so please leave a message and they will return the call promptly. Single tickets must be returned to point of purchase for applicable refund or credit.

“When I went to see Doctor Dolittle in Pittsburgh, August 9th, 2005, I was very excited to see one of my all time favorite family films come to life. From the moment the curtain rose I was enthralled with the theatrics, bewildered by the innovative puppetry, and transported back in time to when I was nine years old and experienced Doctor Dolittle for the very first time. I am personally saddened that our community will not get to enjoy the magic of Doctor Dolittle and get to learn how to Talk to the Animals!” ~ Andrew Willmon, Executive Director, BTL
