13th Annual Holiday Gallery Tour

The Huntsville Museum of Art is pleased to partner with local arts organizations for the much-anticipated 13th Annual Holiday Gallery Tour Thursday, Dec. 1, 2005, from 5-9 p.m. Several galleries in the Huntsville area are opening their doors after-hours and inviting the public to share in their appreciation for the arts. This is a unique opportunity for guests to view hundreds of works created by locally, regionally, and nationally acclaimed artists while also sampling delicious hors d¹ouerves and wine at each location.

This informal event will showcase art for every style and taste, including paintings, pottery, glass, sculpture, jewelry design, photography and woodworking.

Huntsville Art League

The Huntsville Art League is a non-profit founded in 1957 to cultivate local artists and friends of the arts through education, exhibits, and community outreach. Over 60 local artists display their artwork, jewelry, and pottery at HAL. The Limelight artists for December are M.J. Montgomery and Kay McWhorter.

Signature Gallery

Signature Gallery will be featuring a new collection of watercolors by Mary Ann Pope. In addition, Signature features an extensive collection of functional pottery, fine art glass, wood, and contemporary and traditional jewelry representing more than 250 American artists from across the United States.

Artistic Images Gallery

Award winning Tennessee artist known as ³Gray² will present work that he categorized as ³folk tales mixed with painting². His work is rich in Southern imagery, yet contemporary enough to hang in the most prestigious of modern art galleries. Gray¹s art has been featured in numerous magazines such as Time and The Oxford American.

Meridian Arts Gallery

Meridian Arts has many new editions to our acclaimed group of artists. C. Elizabeth Smathers sculpts beautiful creations from nature. Evamarie Pappas offers striking, contemporary pottery. These are just two of many inspiring new offerings to see. Meridian Arts represents professional, award-winning artists from across the U.S.

Artistic Minds

Artistic Minds features portrait and fine art photography by Diana Henry with custom framing available. We also feature the oil paintings by Poor Clare Nun Art Market, Vonday¹s Art, Pigs and Snails (custom kids art by Cindy). We have added another artist, Alissa Murnane, Average to Art, who will turn your average walls and furniture into art.

Signature Gallery at the Museum

Signature Gallery is thrilled to announce their second location within the Huntsville Museum of Art. They will showcase their new space along with 75 American fine art and craft artists from across the United States. The new gallery is located on the Plaza in the Park level next to the new Palette Café facing Big Spring Pond.

Come see the dazzling array of photographs by one of America¹s pre-eminent photographers, Ansel Adams: Celebration of Genius. A special American Masters Store will have reproductions available of his more well known images. Don¹t miss children¹s artwork in our newly opened Children¹s Community Gallery located on the Plaza in the Park level. Also register to win a family membership for a year and a $25 gift certificate to both museum stores, which offer a wide selection of gifts for the holidays.

After Hours at the Palette Café

Join us beginning at 9 p.m. for our new after hours location at the Palette Café. This new European style café has just opened on the Plaza in the Park level at the Huntsville Museum of Art next to Signature Gallery at the Museum. It can be reached from both inside the museum through the Children¹s Community Gallery and from the outside Plaza entrance. The café will be serving complimentary hors d¹ouerves and will have a cash beer and wine bar. Join us inside the café or on the heated patio facing Big Spring Pond.
