Here's a great opportunity to have a rare piece of artwork for your home or office. A limited edition print of artist James Thomas Neumann’s painted rendition of Isaac & Joseph Criner at the Big Spring in 1804, is being auctioned online to raise money for the American Cancer Society.
Proceeds from the online auction of the framed print will go to the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life fundraising campaign. This is a great opportunity to own a piece of art depicting one of Huntsville's earliest documented history of settlers. The next summer John Hunt is believed to have used logs cut by the Criner brothers, from their 1804 visit to Big Spring, to build his home.To enter the auction please email your bid, as well as contact information to: dhudson@hsvutil.org The winning bid will be tax-deductible as a donation to the American Cancer Society. Bidding will close at 4 p.m. CDT, on April 28. The auction is being sponsored by Huntsville Utilities’ Relay for Life Volunteers.
The print was donated by Raymond Jones Sr. of Jones Farm and G.W. Jones & Son, who commissioned the painting when G.W. Jones & Sons celebrated their centennial anniversary. Karen's Frames on University Drive has donated framing and matting.
