The Alabama Blues Brothers and Time Machine will play for the season opener of Concerts in the Park 2006. The fun begins Monday, May 29, at 6:30 p.m. and runs until 8:00 p.m. This year the concerts kick off at Ditto Landing. The Armed Forces Week concert on July 10 will also be held at Ditto Landing. The majority of the concerts will stay at Big Spring International Park, starting with Reunion at the in-park kickoff on June 5.

The Alabama Blues Brothers have played in over 17 states, Japan, and Korea over the past 9 years, entertaining crowds with their Blues Brothers tribute and fun oldies like “Jailhouse Rock” and “Soul Man”. Their stop at Concerts In the Park is part of a 12 state tour.

Time Machine has played at many private and public functions around the Huntsville area, including Panoply and Big Spring Jam. Their 60s and 70s rhythm and blues music will make everyone want to get up and dance to familiar tunes. Between the strong vocals and entertaining stage show, Time Machine features music for all ages.

This free concert series is open to the public every Monday from Memorial Day through September 11. Blankets, lawn chairs, and picnics are encouraged. Soft drinks, snacks, pizza and ice cream novelties are on sale during the concert.

Concerts in the Park is a co-production of the City of Huntsville through its Division of Recreation and Landscape Management and The Arts Council, Inc. For more information, please call 256-519-2787 or visit us on the web at www.artshuntsville.org.
