Concerts in the Park: Olde Towne Brass & Huntsville Concert Band
Olde Towne Brass has performed together for the past 16 years. They have performed in 21 states and have been featured in two Ken Burns TV specials. They have also served as the host band for the National Civil War Band Festival and the Great American Brass Band Festival in Danville, Kentucky. They play brass band music from America’s early history on horns that are over 140 years old!
Huntsville Concert Band was founded in 1963 and entertains audiences throughout North Alabama and southern Tennessee. All members of the band are volunteers who donate their time and talents to preserve the tradition of band music that has existed in Huntsville since the late 19th century. They have performed at such events as Memorial Day ceremonies and Pops In the Park concert in Scottsboro. Their music is a delight and always a welcome sound at the Concert series.
This free concert series is open to the public every Monday from Memorial Day through the second Monday of September. Blankets, lawn chairs, and picnics are encouraged. Domino’s Pizza, soft drinks, snacks, and ice cream novelties will be on sale during the concert.
