Concerts in the Park: Jerry McAlister & Open Delta and Young At Heart

Concerts in the Park will feature Jerry McAlister & Open Delta and Young At Heart on Monday, July 24, from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. in Big Spring International Park, near the corner of Williams and Church Street, in downtown Huntsville. Jerry McAlister & Open Delta is a 5-piece band that brings the styles of Robert Johnson, Muddy Waters, Big Bill Bronzy, and Ray Charles to the Tennessee Valley. They have entertained at many private parties, events, and clubs, including Furniture Factory and the Concerts In the Park. Jerry & Open Delta have been performing together for 10 years.

Young at Heart has been performing together for the past 3 years. The band consists of 6 teenagers from the Hazel Green area who specialize in country music and southern rock standards. Young at Heart has been very busy performing at events around Madison County including Concerts In the Park, parties, picnics and fairs. They have also released 2 CD’s.

This free concert series is open to the public and takes place every Monday from Memorial Day through the second Monday in September. Blankets, lawn chairs, and picnics are encouraged. Domino’s Pizza, soft drinks, snacks, and ice cream novelties will be on sale during the concert.
