RobinElla in Concert May 3rd at Three Caves

Wednesday April 25, 2007
Dualtone Records artists "RobinElla and the Ccstringband" will headline the 2nd Annual Spring Concert at historic Three Caves on Thursday, May 3. Guest artist Jay Clark will begin the program. The concert highlights The Land Trust's 20th Anniversary celebration.

The concert venue is Three Caves Quarry - a former limestone quarry quickly becoming a natural cave. Tickets are $15. Concert goers may pre-order one of two boxed dinner selections from Cyn Shea's for an additional $15 and are encouraged to bring their own chairs. Dress is "cave casual." No pets or small children.

"We are thrilled to bring this exceptional group to Huntsville," said Concert Chairman Dennis Keim.

"RobinElla has been featured on NPR's "Mountain Stage," appeared on the Grand Ole Opry, has performed on PBS's "SoundStage and on NBC's Conan O'Brien show. Add local favorite Jay Clark and the mystique of beautiful Three Caves and you have an unforgettable evening of entertainment."

"As Alabama's first land trust, we continue to work with landowners and developers to protect wetlands, scenic vistas and wildlife habitat just as we have over the last 20 years," stated Executive Director Cynthia Parker. "Proceeds from our Spring Concert will help us continue to preserve precious North Alabama greenspace."

Reviewers agree that RobinElla's music is unquestionably genre-bending but undeniably wonderful. "RobinElla emotes like a melancholy angel, with one wing in a jazz club and the other in a honky-tonk," raved The Atlanta Journal & Constitution. "She sings country-influenced jazz that is positively silky," added The Boston Globe. "RobinElla Contreras...draws comparisons to Dolly Parton and Billie Holiday," marveled No Depression. "It's a country-swing-bluegrass-jazz-fusion taste treat," said Billboard.

Free parking and shuttle from Huntsville Hospital's lots at Lowell & Adams begins at 6 pm. Concert activities begin at 7 pm. Tickets may be purchased by calling The Land Trust at 256-534-5263.

The Land Trust is celebrating its 20th Anniversary and serves 11 counties in North Alabama. A member-supported non-profit organization, The Land Trust has preserved over 4,500 North Alabama acres valued at over $14 million. Three major mountain preserves offer 25 miles of public trails. The greenspace protected by The Land Trust remains in its natural state and, in most cases, properties are open to the public for recreation such as hiking, nature study, bird watching and photography.
