Huntsville's Weekend Weather...by James Payton
Wednesday August 6, 2008
On the weather map...A cold front will approach & cross the Tennessee Valley on Friday morning bringing a chance of rain & a few thunderstorms early in the day. Behind the front is drier & much cooler weather. The near 100 degree heat we've seen this week will only be a memory as temperatures across the Tennessee Valley will likely not get out of the 80s in many places. No question this will be a great weekend to get outdoors once the rain moves out on Friday.
Here's my official Tennessee Valley weekend forecast...
For Friday...Mostly cloudy. 50/50 chance of rain & storms early. Clearing during the afternoon. High 87.
Friday Night...Fair & pleasant. Low 68.
Saturday...Sunny & less humid. High 88.
Saturday Night...Fair. Low 65.
Sunday...Mostly sunny & Nice. High 86.
Last week's weather trivia question...The actual air temperature is 100 degrees. The humidity is 45%. What does the temperature feel like outside to the human body (the heat index)? The answer was C. 115 degrees. Anytime there is a hot day with humidity your body will have you thinking it's a few degrees warmer than it actually is. The higher the humidity, the hotter it feels.
This week's weather trivia question...How many name lists does the National Hurricane Center use for naming tropical systems in the Atlantic Ocean?
A. 3 lists
B. 6 lists
C. 9 lists
D. 12 lists
Answer will appear next week.
Have a great weekend everyone!
