Huntsville's Weekend Weather...by James Payton

Wednesday October 8, 2008
On the weather map...Behind a cool front which brought much of the Tennessee Valley two or more inches of rain this week, high pressure will again regain control of our weather. An easterly flow will set up on Sunday bringing some Atlantic air into the valley...which means a few more clouds..& a very small chance of rain on Sunday...however most areas if not all will remain dry.

My official Tennessee Valley weekend forecast...

For Friday...Partly cloudy & warm. High 82.
Friday Night...Fair. Low 62
Saturday...Mostly sunny. High 82.
Saturday Night...Becoming mostly cloudy. Low 61.
Sunday...Mostly cloudy. Very small risk of an isolated shower. High 80.

Football forecast...

Alabama is enjoying a week off this week.

Arkansas at Auburn (4 pm CT - Auburn, AL)...It will be mostly sunny at kickoff with a temperature at or just above 80 degrees. Might see a few clouds roll in by the fourth quarter...but rain is not expected.

Grambling at Alabama A&M (3 pm CT - Huntsville)...The big homecoming game on the A&M campus Saturday should be sunny with temperatures in the low 80s at kickoff. Rain is not expected.

Last week's weather trivia question...TRUE or FALSE...October is on average the driest month in the Tennessee Valley each year on record. The answer is true. We generally see less rain in October than any other month of the year on average.

This week's weather trivia question...TRUE or FALSE...In a weather forecast partly cloudy & partly sunny mean the exact same thing.

Have a great weekend everyone!
