  • How did the turkey get its name? Here's some interesting tidbits of trivia concerning a staple of many Thanksgiving dinners....The Turkey.
  • NASA is officially moving forward on a mission to conduct an unprecedented, in-depth study of Jupiter. Called Juno, the mission will be the first in which a spacecraft is placed in a highly elliptical polar orbit around the giant planet to understand its formation, evolution and structure. Underneath its dense cloud cover, Jupiter safeguards secrets to the fundamental processes and conditions that governed our early solar system.
  • The Little Green Store at 820 Monte Sano Boulevard is not only a shop specializing in eco-friendly products, green supplies and local art, it also offers on-site recycling options for which the city does not provide pick-up services: Glass, Fluorescent Bulbs and Batteries.   • Lee High School Class of 1979, there's a 30-year Class Reunion planning meeting on Thursday, 11 December 2008 at 6:00 p.m. at Gibson's Bar-B-Q restaurant (3319 South Memorial Parkway. The Reunion itself is Reunion, tentatively scheduled for Saturday, 25 July 2009.   • Skaters from the Huntsville Skating School and Training Academy, on Leeman Ferry Road, are performing The Nutcracker on ice in celebration of the 2008 holiday season.
