Weekend Weather Trivia & Forecast

Last week's weather trivia question...Cordless phones & cell phones are safe to use during an electrical storm. The answer is true. Any phone that is not "corded" is safe to use. A phone with a cord plugged into the wall is what you want to avoid during a thunderstorm. Lightning can travel through the phone line.

On the weather map...Our weather will continued to be controlled by a ridge of high pressure to our west. We will see the outer fringes of that. This will keep the extreme heat to our west...and will also allow at least a small chance of showers & storms each afternoon. We will be slightly cooler this weekend than last...but still slightly about normal for late June. Still...take care in the heat outdoors this weekend as our heat index will still hover around 100 each afternoon.

Friday Night...Partly cloudy. Storms ending early. Low 72.
Saturday...Partly cloudy. 20% chance of a storm. High 95.

Sunday...Partly cloudy. 30% chance of an afternoon storm. High 94.
