Spashing Around Point Mallard Waterpark

Sunday July 5, 2009
If you're hot, then you need to head over to the 32-acre Point Mallard Aquatic Center in Decatur for some good old-fashioned water fun. It features the first wave pool in the United States. It opened August 9, 1970 with attendance at the waterpark of 500. Nowadays, in addition to the wave pool, the park includes the 3 Flume Slide attraction, Duck Pond children's play area, Sky Pond & Squirt Factory, and the Space Bowl. There is also picnic areas under trees, lounge chairs scattered around the park, and great concessions to choose from. Here's a sneak peek for you.
