Weekend Weather Trivia & Forecast

Friday July 10, 2009
Last week's weather trivia question...What is the hottest Independence Day ever recorded in Huntsville? The answer was B. 100 degrees. That occurred on July 4, 1928. This is also the "coolest" record high temperature for the month of July as well.

This week's trivia question....What is the coolest temperature ever recorded in Huntsville in July?

A. 49 degrees
B. 52 degrees
C. 54 degrees
D. 57 degrees

On the weather map...High pressure will dominate most of our weekend weather. The good news is that it will be centered to the west of us around Texas...& thus that is where the intense heat will stay although we will still be quite warm. Chance of rain through Saturday night looks to be less than 20%. By Sunday we may get just far enough away that we could see a chance of afternoon storms return...but the chance will still be small.

My official Tennessee Valley weekend forecast...

For Friday...Partly cloudy. High 93.
Friday Night...Fair skies. Low 70.
Saturday...Partly cloudy & slightly warmer. High 95.
Saturday Night...Partly cloudy & muggy. Low 72.
Sunday...Mostly cloudy with a 20% chance of afternoon thunderstorms. High 92.

Have a great weekend!
