HUNSTVILLE, Ala. The sky above Moontown Airport will be a buzz with antique, warbird and experimental airplanes on September 19-20, 2009 (rain or shine) when the airport welcomes more than 100 aircraft for the annual grass field-fly in. This free family-friendly event is a unique opportunity to rub elbows with amateur and professional pilots and explore a variety of light aircraft in a fun, laid-back environment.

Children between the ages of 8-17 can enjoy the thrill of flight, with parent's permission, through the Experimental Aircraft Association’s Young Eagles program at no cost. The aim of the Young Eagles program is to inspire children to follow their dreams and introduce kids to a passion that might last a lifetime. Flights will be offered on a first-come first served basis and kids and parents can sign-up at the information booth the morning of the event. No advance registration will be offered.

The event is free and open to the public. Biplane rides available for purchase. Breakfast will be served Saturday from 7-10 AM. Proceeds will benefit EAA 190 and local organizations. Moontown Airport is located just 7 miles east of Huntsville on Hwy 72 in Brownsboro.
