Dogwoods Pretty in Pink and White

Huntsville Comes Into Bloom in Spring

By Jean Brandau, About.com

Dogwoods: Pretty in Pink....and White

Springtime in Huntsville wouldn't be complete without the dogwoods in bloom. Throughout the city, streets and lawns are lined with these beautiful trees in white and pink varieties.

The flowering dogwood usually doesn't grow more than forty feet high. Dogwoods are known by a variety of names, including false boxwood, cornelian tree, Florida dogwood, white cornel, spindle tree, bird cherry, and Nature's mistake.

I recently drove around Huntsville and found some magnificent examples of these showy trees. Join me as we tour the town for Dogwoods......
