By , About.com Guide

If you've always wondered what life as an astronaut would be like, a week at Space Camp will show you.
Difficulty: Hard
Time Required: varies

Here's How:

  1. Make sure you qualify for Space Camp. You must be at least 9 years old and doing 4th grade work in school.
  2. Register 2 weeks in advance or sooner if you want a particular week. Space Camp is one week long and offered every week year round.
  3. Get a doctor's signature on a health form to show that you are physically capable of participating in Space Camp.
  4. Get some money from your parents--or grandparents! The price of Space Camp depends on your age and how long you're staying. It's not as expensive as you might think. Check with Space Camp for current prices.
  5. Register online with a credit card at http://www.spacecamp.com or through the mail at: Space Camp, 1 Tranquility Base, Huntsville, AL 35805-3399 Attention: Reservations, or call with a credit card: 256-837-3400.

  9. Do your homework! You will be given a log book for assignments and to take home after camp.

  1. Space suits, in sizes ranging from youth-small to adult XXL are available for purchase in the museum gift shop for $75.
  2. Weekend or week-long space camp experiences are available for adults. There are also Parent/Child weekend programs.
