Here's my opinion about some of the local theatre shows and concerts here in Huntsville:

05/10/05 Theatre Review: "The Women"
The Women, a modern comedy of manners and Clare Boothe Luce's second play, opened on Broadway in 1936 at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre with an all-female cast that included Arlene Francis, Marjorie Main and Doris Day. It was a satire on the idleness of wealthy wives and divorcees. See scenes from Huntsville's Theatre Huntsville production.

04/19/05 Art Garfunkel Wows Huntsville
Art Garfunkel's performance with the Huntsville Symphony Orchestra left the audience screaming for more...more Simon and Garfunkel tunes, that is. Garfunkel got a standing ovation for "Mrs. Robinson," "Bridge Over Troubled Waters," and, of course, "Sounds of Silence."

03/27/05 Theatre Review: "LiL Abner"
Grissom Fine Arts Department is shaking up Dogpatch, U.S.A. with a nonstop action, singing, dancing, chasing, pipe-smoking, fiddle-playing show that takes a cartoon and makes you believe it's for real.

03/17/05 Backstage With Yo-Yo Ma
One of the highlights of Huntsville's history will be the day that Yo-Yo Ma performed for the Symphony's 50th Anniversary. Take a look at some of the photos and comments from Ron Roberts

03/15/05 American Idol: Bo Bice
Huntsville-born singer Bo Bice is burning up the stage on this year's "American Idol." The 29 year old Alabamian stands out from the other contestants with his amazing voice, charisma and confident stage presence.

01/26/05 Theatre Review: "Thoroughly Modern Millie"
How refreshing to see a show with NO bad language, but with gorgeous costumes and fabulous dance numbers! I found The Broadway Theatre League's "Thoroughly Modern Millie" totally charming and thoroughly enjoyable.

01/25/05 My Footnotes on Huntsville Community Ballet
I have to start off by admitting that I know next to nothing about ballet. However, it was with a sense of curiosity and anticipation that my good friend Nancy and I set out to see the Huntsville Community Ballet Company host the North Carolina Dance Theatre.

01/18/05 Theatre Review: "Fuddy Meers"
Theatre Huntsville's "Fuddy Meers" is one of the funniest shows I've ever seen. you're offended by strong language, don't you go, either--but otherwise, this is a wild and wacky show!

01/12/05 "Cirque Dreams" Review
Well, "Cirque Dreams" finally came to Huntsville...and I might add, has me going in "circles." Just a few minutes into the show and my head was spinning. This was truly your geometry & science classes come to life--with jugglers handling squares, triangles and those multiple-sided boxes.

12/31/04 Steppin' Out With HSO
Who knew the Huntsville Symphony Orchestra was so much fun? Who knew that the audience would be laughing and clapping in the middle of the music? Who knew the orchestra would be dancing? Well, that's how it happened this New Year's at the annual pops concert.

12/09/04 "Word on the Street" Christian Musical
Word on the Streetis a contemporary Christian musical of Mary, Joseph, and God's gift of grace and faith. It is true to the Christmas story--but nothing like your typical "Christmas Pageant" put on by churches around the world during the holiday season.

12/02/04 "The Best Christmas Pageant Ever"
Beth Bradley tells the audience at the opening of Grissom High School's "The Best Christmas Pageant Ever" that, "The Herdmans are the worst kids in the history of the world!" Everyone in town agrees. When Mrs. Armstrong breaks her leg, Beth's mother is reluctantly recruited to direct the Christmas Pageant.

11/26/04 Theatre Review: "The Full Monty"
I just saw "The Full Monty!" My husband said it was "lively;" I thought it was funny and very entertaining. I had been surprised when Broadway Theatre League announced that "The Full Monty" was coming to Huntsville. This was the South & the Bible Belt, after all.
