Huntsville has hundreds of beautiful, old homes in several historic neighborhoods. The Historic Lowry House at 1205 Kildare Street in Huntsville was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2001. In June 2006 it was restored and reopened for weddings, receptions and meetings. If you're looking for a unique place for your wedding, then you might want to take a look at this beautiful home. The house is open for a free tour Saturday, May 17th.

Here's what I learned in Huntsville this week:
Huntsville residents have an opportunity to take Sports Safety Course. It's free (coupon code is: HUNTSVILLE2-5/2008) and available online. It is provided by the State of Alabama through a grant with Alabama State University and the National Center for Sports Safety. The goal is to decrease the number of injuries by helping youth and high school sporting events to become safer venues through emergency action planning. For more info, call (256) 564-8026. On the weather map...A cold front will cross Alabama on Thursday sparking some soaking rains & a few thunderstorms through Thursday Night. Clouds will hang around though most of the weekend with a few rays of sun from time to time. Most of the weekend however should stay dry. There will be a small chance of a shower or two on Sunday...but certainly not enough to cancel your outdoor Sunday plans.
Now here's my official Tennessee Valley weekend forecast... Read more...
