How to Get a Library Card
Reading opens up a whole new world to us. The library has a goldmine of information for the public to use.
Difficulty Level: easy Time Required: 10 minutes
Here's How:
- Go to the Huntsville-Madison County Public Library located at 915 Monroe Street or any branch of the library to register.
- Fill out registration form.
- Show proof that you reside in Madison County. You can use your driver's license or other photo I.D. for identification or bring mail with your Madison County address on it to prove you live in the county.
- Check out some good books, CD's and videos, immediately, and often.
- Return
your library materials on time.

- Branches of the library are located throughout the county: Bailey Cove Branch, Bessie K. Russell Branch, Blue Spring Branch, College of Discovery Branch, Eleanor E. Murphy Branch, Gurley Library, Adison Library, Madison Square Branch, Monrovia/Harvest Branch, New Hope Library, Tillman Hill Library, and Triana Branch
- Library cards are free to Huntsville residents. Replacement cards cost $2; nonresidents pay $15.
- Books
check out for 2 weeks and can be renewed for additional
time if there is no hold on them. Late fee for books and
CD's is 25 cents per day. Late fee for videos is $1.00
per day. Current best sellers can be found in the
"Quick Picks" book section of the library and
are available for $2.
