One special feature of the Burritt is a special display in the old Baptist Church during the Silver Tea. This year, quilts were highlighted. The wonderful heirlooms were displayed on the walls and on hanging racks throughout the church. The many displays showed how a quilt can tell a variety of stories. Some of the quilts were family treasures; others were fairly new to their owners.
All in all, the Silver Tea is one of the most fun events to attend in Huntsville. The hardest part is attending and remembering to take a picture at the same time! It's so much fun, I forget to record some of the precious moments. You need to make plans now to attend for yourself next year. Call the Burritt Museum at 256-536-2882 to be put on the Silver Tea mailing list.
