<Skydancer>

skydancer@mfi.net

<winky>

Can someone tell me about Mar College in Lauderdale Co.

<Granny>

Pam, most of my Hortons are from Franklin County Tennessee to Jackson County. Don't know if some of them moved off to Shelby Co. or not. I haven't done a lot of research on that line yet

<Pam>

Ok Thanks, I'll try.

<n4upj>

I'll do that. Thanks!!

<Pam>

Thanks, I have an Aunt in Shelby Co. that married a Leo Horton.

<Granny>

Leo Horton is not a familiar name to me, but as I said, I haven't done a lot of research on that line yet.

<katalar>

A lot of the folks that I have done research on here in Saline County Arkansas came up from Alabama

<Granny>

winky, most of the folks that live in AL and could probably tell you about the college have already left for the night. :-(

<Granny>

katalar, is Saline County near Calhoun County?

<Pam>

Thanks everyone, I'll try to make it earlier next week. Have a good evening all.

<Granny>

katalar, can you check DeKalb county and see if there is a John Benton Morgan m. to Mary Ann Nicholson

<katalar>

Sure give me a minute

<winky>

I'm just guessing that may have been where my grandmother went to college. The family moved to TX after 1880 and she applied and received a teaching certificate there. I just recently learned there was a Mars College in Lauderdale Co. so would like to learn if that was where she went.

<Granny>

winky, have you tried looking Mars College up on the internet?

<Granny>

Maybe you could at least get an address and write to them regarding your grandmother.

<winky>

No. Hadn't thought to try but will do that shortly. Thanks.

<katalar>

what year was John born there are several morgans listed

<Granny>

I wrote to Vanderbilt Medical school and they sent me information on my great grandfather!
