Gemini--I have the Marriages of Jackson Co. books--do you need a lookup?

<Debra>

yes Jean I realize that but my database has been online for over 5 years and hits under almost every search engine, wasn't here for personal research, just checking out the site for archival purposes

<huntsvilleADM>

If you have genealogy books or CD's to share for lookups, please let us know......

<Gemini>

Yes if you don't mind? Chapley HAMPTON married Nancy STEWART after 1862.

<huntsvilleADM>

Remember to repeat your surnames as new people enter the room.....they can't see what was posted BEFORE they came in......

<Gemini>

HAMPTON, STEWART, SEAY, THORNHILL AND SHRADER Jackson County AL

<Granny>

ADM, I have Ancestry's Red Book that list information about all the states and where to go or write for information.

<Gemini>

What's an Ancestry's Red Book??

<Granny>

Gemini, it is the name of a book that takes it state by state and list all the archives, their addresses, the counties, and where all to go for genealogy information.

<Debra>

I'm working to try to get as many transcribed records online as possible

<Gemini>

where do you get one?

<huntsvilleADM>

Gemini, I didn't see your HAMPTON or STEWART in either Marriage book......the Jackson Co. courthouse has burned down several times during the war, so I suppose those records are lost.

<Debra>

that is a good resource granny

<Gemini>

Thanks a lot.

<Granny>

I ordered mine from Barnes and Nobles on line, but you can get them in the Barnes and Nobles stores too, or order online through Ancestry.com and various other sources.

<Gemini>

Would there be any marriages in there from the years 1908-1912?

<huntsvilleADM>

Gemini--do you have any other SURNAMES you want me to look up a marriage for?

<Granny>

Debra, yes, I have learned a lot from it and especially like the maps that are included.

<Gemini>

Thanks Granny.

<Debra>

exactly granny and we're always having to find a courthouse address!

* Granny
