<memeEJ>  Not sure but Annie could be.
<huntsvilleADM>  Let me tell you about her:
<Granny>  ADM, what about Alexander or John Snodgrass?
<huntsvilleADM>  Indiana Thompson married her cousin, James Manning of Macon, AL (b. 1806 d. 1849) who was of great piety. Issues: ....Mary Sophia Manning (b. 1832) m. (1854) Dr. William F. DRUMMOND of Petersburg, VA who claimed ancestry of many centuries, through the Duke of Perthshire, Scotland, and asserted himself the hereditary Duke in American. Issue: ....Thomas Fletcher DRUMMOND m. (1886) Annie L. SHIELDS, four girls and two boys.
<huntsvilleADM>  I looked already Granny--NO Snodgrasses.......

<huntsvilleADM>  oh...just an A. SNODGRASS
<huntsvilleADM>  let me see:
<memeEJ>  Thanks, but from what I know about the Shields so far I can't make a connection. Thanks again.
<huntsvilleADM>  This is a notice published in the Montgomery paper on Dec. 1, 1861 for Volunteers.....A. SNODGRASS is among the list.
<Granny>  Could be Alexander...volunteers for what?
<huntsvilleADM>  The Civil War!
<huntsvilleADM>  EJ--do you think that was your Annie?
<Granny>  No, Alexander did not serve in the Civil War that I know of. One of WJB Padgett's sons died in the Civil War though, and there were several Snodgrass men who served.
<huntsvilleADM>  Anyone had another surname to look up? We have 5 minutes left.
<memeEJ>  I have just found out that Francis Marion Shields and Ann Baggett are my great grandparents. His father was James Shields, all from Pike Co. I don't know yet.
