Granny,  several of my Smiths (John and James Alfred Smith) were thought to be part native American. My wife Carol is from Lewisburg TN (Marshall Co)and she thought her father Henry Clark was half Indian. I just read about a class of people from W. VA,  NC,  KY and TN who may be Spanish-Portuguese called the ""Melungeons""..anyone ever heard of them?

vicky,  my line of WEBB goes from NC,  SC,  GA,  TN,  AL. They were really large families (often at least 12 children) and scattered all over the area.

Yes Mickey I have and there is a list that talks about the Melungeons..

melugeons are folks of NA an white an black mix I’m kin to a very famous one everyone named Emily Morgan wells better known as the yellow rose of TX
