<Travis>

Well,  Mickey,  the only names that I know are Mary Polly Prewitt and (probably) her brother,  William who lived next door to them in Tuscaloosa County. William was also married to a Winchester,  so I would like to know more about that line as well.

<Jill>

My Morgan’s were in Wilcox Cty from the Carolinas in 1820s. Lots of James and Johns. Mary Ann Evans married James Morgan 1849,  had several children,  was widowed and married William H Ricketts 186? and one of their children,  Leona Ricketts,  is my paternal grandmother I’m trying to find out if Mary Ann was Choctaw. Sorta related .  and mother

<mickey43>

Travis,  are your Winchesters related to the Winchester Rifle folks...there is a Winchester, TN near Tullahoma

<Travis>

We were always told that my father was part Indian,  but I could never find any trace of it until I got the Brothers info. Then,  there it was.

<MizB>

Jill--Granny and I are from the same line of My-My GG grandfather was James Adkins Morgan,  John Benton's son

<mickey43>

MizB,  wonder if Granny working an extra shift at the hospital tonite?

<Travis>

Mickey,  May be related to the Winchester in TN,  but the Winchester rifle guy was John Winchester in Massachusetts,  and that is another line. I have heard that there were originally 3 Winchester brothers,  one stayed in the North (the rifle guy) and the other two went South.

<MizB>

She sure sounded tired in her e-mail this week

<Travis>

MizB,  did you know that Mickey and I have a common Brothers line?

<MizB>

Really that's super,  think we are all related someway <gr>

<Jill>

I sure would like to find a connection,  because I’m beginning to think my crowd are from Mars The state of AL lists my grandmother as white,  due to the whole removal to IT thing. Anyway,  she’s listed as white in all records and the one picture I had of her shows a VERY Native American lady.

<MizB>

Well I think my Teel's may be related to Mickey’s

<mickey43>

Frantic that was on the chat last week is related to my David Lindsey in PA to Shelby Co AL and possibly to the GALLOWAY family (BROTHERS) line of Etowah,  St.Clair AL

<mickey43>

MizB,  did cuzzin Wayne contact you about Muriel Teel Cooter's book,  etc?

<MizB>

No and I haven’t rewritten him either must do that this week I had the grandkids and didn't get much done.

<Travis>

Mickey,  I descend from CALEB BROTHERS/MARY WHITE - ISIAIH BROTHERS/ELLENDER PHILLIPS - MARY E. BROTHERS/CLAYBORN BARRON - LELA JANE BARRON/THOMAS WILSON line.

<Travis>

Mary White was the Indian. Apparently a White family in GA bought her from the Cherokees as a slave. I don't know how Caleb Brothers acquired her.

<MizB>

Just found out that the church LDS is opening a Family History Center in Council Bluffs about 30 min from me.

<Travis>

We had grandkids also most of the week,  MizB. Must be going around.

<mickey43>

Travis,  I saw the Mary E. Brothers in your file...my wife is Mary Ellen Brothers of Gallant (named after a Catholic Sister Mary Ellen at Holy Name of Jesus Hospital in Gadsden where she was born and we went to Med Tech school

<mickey43>

Travis,  father in Law Homer Ervin Brothers had black hair and high cheek bones like as his other siblings from Sand Mtn in Douglas-Horton-Boaz,  etc

<Travis>

You know,  Mickey,  until I got that file,  I didn't have even one Brothers given name.

<Travis>

Mickey,  my father had those as well. He also had coal black straight hair. His hair didn't turn gray until after he got pretty sick.

<Travis>

Mine started turning gray at 26,  and it is all white now.

<Travis>

Well,  everyone,  I have to go finish mowing the lawn before it gets dark.

<Travis>
