<Guest3114>

They definitely do. Looking for other researchers..need James Naylor served in Rev. War in NC.

<Granny>

Hugh, MizB, are your Pace folks from particular areas, or are they all over the place?

<Hugh>

Granny, I think we were on the wrong limb

<lamby>

Granny, I have the same problem with my folks. I assume there a lot of records destroyed in the War Between the States?

<huntsvilleADM>

Phebelyn--did you say how much the AL Archives charged you for the microfilm ?

<Hugh>

Mostly from Jackson Co and eary from Va

<Granny>

lamby, yes there were in certain areas. I have that problem in Rutherford County, NC where almost all the records were destroyed during that time.

<MizB>

The Pace's came from Va. to Jackson Co.

<Lucky>

Mary Catherine ""Kate"", maiden name unknown first married unknown COLLINS had a child ,Bill Collins

<Sallygirl>

Can anyone there tell me what this means, if I am wrong...The 1830 Census shows a Jonathan Richardson with these numbers....100000001-010001 is this right, the first one is a baby or young child under 5 and the next one is for Jon between 60-70 years old( the first set) (in the second set now) the one is for a child between 5-10 and then the last one is for the wife between ages of 30-40...Am I on track?

<Phebelyn>

That's the great part. Nothing. It's free!

<Granny>

Hugh, MizB, I do a lot of research in VA, so will keep my eyes open for you!

<Lucky>

Then married William Henry HAYNIE

<huntsvilleADM>

If you have resources to share--please let us know.

<Phebelyn>

You just have to have a library card from your local library. They kept my license while I viewed the microfilm.

<marfaTX>

brb

<Jerry>

I have a few of the cem list from DeKalb Co mostly from Sand Mountain

<lamby>

Granny, if a child was listed as ""adopted"" on the census, where else could I look for information. It would have been shortly after 1906.

<CyberLemon>

sallygirl, you should check online for references to those census numbers

<Granny>

I have the Handybook for Genealogists, The Source, and The Printed Source all of which cover the whole US and more.

<CyberLemon>

the old hashmarks read better with a guide to the 1830 census

<CyberLemon>

try looking at rootsweb.com under census resources

<huntsvilleADM>

NOTE: Please check out my Alabama Genealogy pages on this website: http://huntsville.about.com/cs/genealogy1/index.htm I have specific Alabama info, like AL NA; AL Civil War; AL African Americans, etc.

<Granny>

lamby, I'm not sure. The courthouse would probably be your best bet, in the county where the adoption took place, or where the family was living at the time of adoption. There are websites that help with that

<Lucky>

Jerry, do you have any MILLIRONS listed in you cemetery list?

<DonaldLogan>

Marfa, you scoundrel. I just read back as I had gone for awhile, and learned you live in San Antonio. I live in Austin, and go to San Antonio each week for one to three days. I see patients in nursing homes. Course, you may prefer not to visit by phone, or to limit to the chat room. either way is fine. But I am cur8ious about your Logan's...also, there were Logan's from Greene Co., came as did mine, from NC... There are s [msg continues in 20 secs]

<Jerry>

Lucky let me check lots of names can I email you back

<DonaldLogan>

similarities; e.g., John (mine) and Alexander ?) Greene Co., both were Captain of Flatboats, both had a mill, both built a dam. [msg complete]

<Sallygirl>

Thanks CL...I was looking at the census abstract I guess and with it the hashmarks should be close..I wondered if anyone had any y other feedback.....

<lamby>

Granny, my dad's uncle and his wife adopted him and his sister, after their parents died. Would they have records on this?
