<vickyAL>

klez killed my puter an I scanned an used 3 different cleaners still killed it

<mickey43>

My Norton and McAfee both missed KLEZ !!

<Granny>

My Norton seems to stop Klez every time.

<DavidWoodetc>

I just did. both times it slipped in as new variants under the live update.

<Granny>

I run my scan just to be sure before I sit down to send out emails.

<CyberLemon>

we are always mindful here,   my wife used to work at an internet security firm

<CyberLemon>

but I can proudly say since 1987 no serious viruses have hit our pc

<vickyAL>

have AVG set to auto scan all email an it scans system each day at 2pm,

<Granny>

I live in fear it will get into mine,   so I am extremely careful.

<DavidWoodetc>

oh no,   update wants to reboot.

<DavidWoodetc>

I'll wait

<vickyAL>

an I run Norton lest every 3 days

<vickyAL>

to week

<DavidWoodetc>

good girl

<CyberLemon>

always better to be safe than sorry

<Granny>

I've gotten where I back up everything every day,   and run the scan at least once a day.

<CyberLemon>

if you don’t know who sent it,   delete it

<DavidWoodetc>

since your HP had only 168 infected files.

<CyberLemon>

if its cheesy and from a friend,   write them back and ask if they sent it

<vickyAL>

true

<mickey43>

I have both MSN dial up and AOL ISP/DSL---my AOL is extremely slow now --anybody else having trouble with AOL?

<CyberLemon>

I clued a friend that he had a virus

<Granny>

I just permanently delete anything ""iffy""

<CyberLemon>

aol has been fine here in the Sili Valley

<vickyAL>

no I’m on aol thru isp/dsl

<DavidWoodetc>

and empty the deleted folder too

<vickyAL>

working fine

<CyberLemon>

that’s the safest Granny

<Granny>

Always do,   David,   Cyber! I do it immediately...don't even wait until the end of the day.

<DavidWoodetc>

Just because we're paranoid don't mean they aren't out to get us. :)

<Granny>

Right!

<mickey43>

Even if you get stuff from someone you know it can be BugBear--- the clue on mine with recognized screen name,   they had a fictitious internet provider

<vickyAL>

I have Aol cookie washer run that least once a day if not every 2 + 2 virus scanners so puter clean

<Granny>

You can't be too careful. I didn't used to pay much attention,   but lately it seems like the viruses are on the rampage.

<vickyAL>

used to be u got em thru attachments now it can be a simple email

<CyberLemon>

yep,   I was in the corp tech support when ILOVEYOU hit

<CyberLemon>

I did our company proud,   but the viruses just keep on coming

<mickey43>

I got the bug from ""Ciscosfriend"" on AL Cemeteries and Dr. Callaway from MS last week--- all seem to be genealogy related folks

<Granny>

yes,   vicky...that is the scary part. You don't even have to open an attachment.

<vickyAL>

what was scary is I got klez thru hotmail

<Granny>

We need some other folks to come...we pretty much know everything on everyone here!

<DavidWoodetc>

Well,   vicky and I do try Granny

<vickyAL>

well granny we could send David out to go force folks in chat room lol but don’t think that would help

<Granny>

PADGETT,   MORTAN,   WEBB,   HORTON,   SNODGRASS,   NICHOLSON/NICKOLSON,   McCORD,   THOMPSON,   BRIDGES,   TRIBBLE in Jackson County. Email granny1463@yahoo.com

<mickey43>
