<Aarius>

Dee I wanted to ask you if anyone has enumerated the cemeteries of Baldwin Co?

<SEEKER>

Yes Granny,  I posted a news item on Catherine Stamps....but no response

<Granny>

Seeker,  hopefully there will be soon.

<Dee>

I think you have found all there is on Catherine. No one else seems to know anything either.

<huntsvilleADM>

Vicky is having to work on Monday nights...don't know what happened to David,  marfa....

<Aarius>

I only found out about the family name boards recently

<mickey43>

ADM, did you get to meet up with Travis when he was in Arab, AL area?

<huntsvilleADM>

CyberLemon is going to school,  I believe....

<SEEKER>

Granny,  I keep hoping. I go back periodically to various places I have posted queries and update the query so maybe someone who comes along later will see it.

<Dee>

Hubby and I are going to go to Rosemount in Miss. to the Jeff. Davis home. He was married to our Stamps. Wife #2.

<Aarius>

oh wow

<Granny>

Aarius,  there is lots of information on the family name boards,  and there are several of them. I've always like Genforum.com best,  but now the pop-ups drive me crazy!

<Dee>

They give special tours for Stamp Family members.

<Aarius>

I hear ya

<huntsvilleADM>

Yes,  mickey--I did! He was feeling guilty that he hadn't contacted you,  too. He leaves to go back to Arizona tomorrow. Said he'd try to make the chat....guess something came up,  though.

<SEEKER>

Dee,  I don't remember if you ever told me which Stamps hubby descends from

<Turnbow>

Aarius,  there is an organization for men who are descendants of Revolutionary War soldiers- Sons of the American Revolution,  and for women - Daughters of the American Revolution.

<JimT>

BOLDING,  BRIGHT,  COLLINS,  COOLEY,  HILL,  JUNKINS,  McCRORY,  SHEFFIELD,  TURNER - Marshall,  St Clair County lturner13@cinci.rr.com

<Dee>

The same as yours.

<Aarius>

so I could possibly join it ?

<Granny>

Jim,  who are your Sheffield’s?

<SEEKER>

Granny,  I like RootsWeb but I post to all of them...and to various county and surname boards as well.

<Dee>

I also belong to the Jamestown society.

<marfa>

There is also one for the children of DAR members. I have the forms for my grand daughters,  but have not gotten them completed

<Dee>

I am trying for the Colonial Dames.

<JimT>

James L,  Newton,  Sara Sheffield

<Granny>

Aarius,  yes,  you could possibly join it. It has to be a direct descendant and you have to document each generation. They both have great websites!

<SEEKER>

Dee,  but where? Which one?

<Turnbow>

Marfa - thanks,  that is good to know

<Dee>

It is fun trying to document all the lineage.

<PatAL>

I think I'm a Dilapidated Dame in Dixie. Does that count?

<Jill>

PatAL,  I found out after my family were dead that my paternal gr mother was Choctaw. I never knew a thing about being Indian and I always wanted top be. Most of that secretiveness is because there was a time in AL you had to be Indian and be sent to Indian Territory (Ok) or be white in all records. The one picture I had of my grandmother,  she was so Indian looking they must have sent her to hide in the barn when the census [msg continues in 22 secs]

<Aarius>

I haven't gotten the documents form my cousin yet

<Granny>

Jim,  I have Sheffield’s married to some of my Morgan’s.

<JimT>

Sorry James L Sheffield,  Newton Sheffield,  and Sara Sheffield

<Turnbow>

PatAl - LOL
