Well I need to go...just wanted to add the surnames I am searching for. Bye

<MaryElla>

WILEY, HOKETT, MALONE (MELONE), LOONEY

<huntsvilleADM>

<johnpittman>

Researching PITTMAN/PITMAN,Isom P.and wives Edie Durden(Edith) and Sarah Frazier. Isom d. in Russell Co., AL 9/13/1886

<johnpittman>

Any info on these people would be appreciated and will share all info I have.

<MartinM>

I realize that most everyone isn't here yet, but I have a class on Monday's and won't be able to make it.

<MartinM>

So...here is my question:

<MartinM>

Does anyone know anything about the Martins of Marengo County, AL? My gggrandfather was John R. Martin of Nanafalia, AL.

<MartinM>

I have info on his children and his wife from 1880-1920 Census records, but nothing that goes back in time.

<MartinM>

Since, this is also an Alabama Genealogy group...I am also researching my ggrandmother, Lettie Goldman, of Washington County.

<MartinM>

Lettie's parents were John Thomas Goldman and Nancy Beach/Beech. I have more information about the Beach/Beech side of the family.

<MartinM>

But I need info on the Goldman side.

<MartinM>

I have additional information about the Savells of Mobile County (Eight Mile and surrounding) if anyone needs info on that.

<MartinM>

I am also researching my wife's side of the family...Smitherman's of Bibb County, Scott's of Shelby. Any information anyone could give would be appreciated.

<MartinM>

Thanks...David Michael Martin, Jr.

<AWNRDC>

This is a desperate plea. I'm looking for a John M. ___________ (sounds like CALLEASE) born 1861 in AL with parents born in AL, m. Sarah ______ b 1866 TX parents born in AL daughter Serifa b 1886, TX

<AWNRDC>

One of three things is true: 1) John's sister married a WILLIAMS, 2) Sarah's maiden name is WILLIAMS, or 3) Sarah's sister married a WILLIAMS

<AWNRDC>

This couple is in Angelina Co., TX in 1900 I don't know where before or after

<AWNRDC>

Have not been able to locate him in 1880

<AWNRDC>

MY best guess is his name is Callis, Cooley, Culley, Collier, caughley or something similar anybody have him with his parents in AL in 1870 perhaps? Or a family with this name that went to TX between 1861 and 1886?

<AWNRDC>

Thanks! ANY clue is heartily welcomed!

<Diana>

This is a list of surnames that if am researching in Tallapoosa County, Alabama Benson, Johnson, Lovejoy, Grey or Gray, Admanson, Russell, Phillips, Banks, Walker

<MartinM>

It just dawned on me that if I don't leave at least my email address, then no one who might have information for me will be able to send the information to me.

<huntsvilleADM>

Martin: you can leave your email address....or the chat transcripts prompt people to post to you in the forum: http://forums.about.com/ab-huntsville

<MartinM>

If anyone has info about the Martin's of Marengo County, Rogers/Rodgers of Marengo County, or Goldman of Washington Co...my email address is martinm@montevallo.edu

<MartinM>

Thanks for the info. I must leave now and go to my Monday night EFM class. I will keep the chat dialog open, however.

Hi kimgermany! Leave all the information about who you are looking for and where people can contact you (or that they can post to the board). I don't think that there is really a chat group as such today, just open for postings!

Sorry, Betty, I cannot be of help on either side but I did find a great site that brought the Robins over to the US. Daniel Robins/Robinson from Scotland to NJ He died in 1714. Would you like to have web site listing?

Thanks, but I'm descended from Obedience Robins, who came to VA in 1620. I have a copy of a recent Master's thesis in history about him.

I should correct that and say Quincy was my great-grandfather!! my mother's grandfather.
