Huntsville's Picture of the Week
Monte Sano Tavern

The Monte Sano Tavern may be in ruins now....but not for
long.
The State of Alabama has allocated money to rebuild the building
located at the Monte Sano State Park in Huntsville.

The Monte Sano Tavern was build in 1937
by the Civilian Conservation Corps
during the Great Depression.

This popular gathering place in the 30's & 40's
was destroyed by fire in 1947.

Monte Sano State Park has big plans for the new tavern.
