Huntsville's Picture of the Week

Veterans' Memorial Museum

The Veterans' Memorial Museum in
Huntsville is located on 2060 A Airport Road behind the
old airport terminal.

The Museum is operated by the Alabama Center of Military History.
The museum covers all the wars from the Revolutionary War
to present day wars. (pictured above is Vietnam War)

The Museum is open to the public Wednesday-Saturday 10 AM - 4 PM. Because the Museum is not supported by appropriated funds, there is a nominal admission charge.

This 40 (men) x 8 (horses) Boxcar was given to the state of Alabama
by the people of France as a thank you for help
during World War I and World War II. All 50 states received
one of these boxcars, filled with gifts, from France.

If you would like to donate money, materials or time to help establish this
Veterans' Memorial Museum, you can contact
Milt Aitken, Operations Officer, at 256-883-3737.
