Holding this family together if sometimes just barely is Jack (Pete Owen), a truly caring caregiver, the big brother who slowly comes to the realization that its perhaps his life thats out of control and not his charges.
Cameo appearances by Lee Deal, Gary Gee, Robbie Shafer, Karen Logan, Kelly Sims, David Helba and Lydia Marsh.
This is a well-written and well-performed play. It is a rare opportunity to laugh with those different than ourselves as we see that underneath we all have the same hopes, dreams, fears, and misunderstandings. This is a great family play if you don't mind a few swear words. There is at least one mention of the "f" word and a violent scene between Barry and his father, but the value that older children can get from this touching play is worth these obstacles. "The Boys Next Door" is sure to open the opportunity for a conversation regarding these "hidden" people in our society.
