Ditto Landing:  Parade of Boats
Part I:  Christmas in Huntsville

On the second Saturday in December, Ditto Landing displays a Christmas event that hundreds of local residents have come to love.  The night starts off with a splendid fireworks display.

Then more than twenty boats from around the area, decked out for Christmas parade down the Tennessee River in all their splendor.   This enchanting celebration is open to the public and free of charge.

Ditto Landing was an early boat landing on the Tennessee River established by John Ditto, Indian trader.  It was also the site for the town of Whitesburg.

In 1877, pioneer James Ditto began operating a ferry with landings on both sides of the Tennessee River.  Early settlers landed there in order to reach their lands in Madison County.
