07/25/04: Elburz, a Persian restaurant in the Heart of Huntsville Mall, is a place worth visiting. The service and food are excellent. The food is not only delicious, but also beautifully presented. On some weekends there is entertainment (belly-dancing). Though simply decorated, with an occasional Persian textile or brass, engraved platter, Iranian music is piped into the dining room making the experience extremely pleasant.
I highly recommend the appetizer that has the feta cheese, walnuts, mint, parsley, and pita wedges. The lentil soup is delicious, as is the barley soup. Generally, they have one particular soup one day and another on another day. Also yummy is the chicken dish that is accompanied by rice laden with dried cherries. The Cornish hen dish is also satisfying. To finish off your meal, you have to try the Persian ice cream. It is infused with rosewater and has a taste unlike no other.
