Huntsville's Holiday Calendar of Events--Part 2

Events are color-coded for your convenience.  Events listed in green require money (that green stuff!); those in red are free--making you as jolly as old St. Nick in his red outfit!  Enjoy this list and take in as many activities as your time, energy and interests will permit.

November 23-December 31
Galaxy of Lights  --  Huntsville Madison County Botanical Gardens

Cost:  $10 per car               Open nightly:  5:30-9 pm
Biggest holiday light extravaganza in the Tennessee Valley including a magnificent one-mile lighted drive with more than 150 lighted exhibits.  This is one of the Top 20 winter tourist attractions on the southeast.

November 24, 25, 26, 39     December 1, 2, 3, 7, 8, 9, 10
"Miracle on 34th Street"  --  Renaissance Theatre
708 Pratt Avenue, Huntsville   536-3434
Tickets are $15 for Opening Night, Nov. 24th, with a reception following.  All tickets for other nights are $12.
Showtimes at 8:00 pm and 2:30 pm.  Reservations required.  

November 25; December 2, 3
Santa Train -- North Alabama Railroad Museum
694 Chase Road, Huntsville   851-6276 (on Wednesdays & Saturdays between 8:30 and 2 pm)
A 40-minute ride with Santa and his elves.  Train is decorated inside and out and Santa will have treats and gifts for the children.  Train departs Saturday 10 a.m., 11 a.m., 1 p.m., 3 p.m.; and Sunday at 1 p.m., 2 p.m., and 3 p.m.  Cost is $8.00 for all passengers of all ages.  Reservations required .

November 27, 28
Jingle Bell Walk --Huntsville Madison County Botanical Gardens
4747 Bob Wallace Avenue, Huntsville      256-830-4447
Open 5:30-9 pm;   Cost:  $5 per adult; $2.50 per child ages 2-12.  
Enjoy an evening walk through the Galaxy of Lights, visit with Santa, shop in the gift shop.  Refreshments available.  The Garden Train will be decorated for Christmas.  Every walker will receive a "jingle bell" to attach to their shoes.  Cars will not be allowed on this night.  If you need assistance, call ahead to reserve space on the Garden Shuttle.
