Huntsville's Holiday Calendar of Events--Part 3

Events are color-coded for your convenience.  Events listed in green require money (that green stuff!); those in red are free--making you as jolly as old St. Nick in his red outfit!  Enjoy this list and take in as many activities as your time, energy and interests will permit.

"Holiday Grand Entrances" -- Huntsville Botanical Gardens

Monday-Saturday 9-5; Sunday 1-5   Admission included in Garden admission.
Antique doors collected from all over the world and on loan to the Garden for this exhibit, are decorated for the holidays.  Twenty North Alabama designers have created exquisite entrances for you to enjoy.  Display is in the newly renovated Exhibition Hall.

December 1-29
Holiday Trees on Display  -- Huntsville Public Library

Monday-Thursday 9 a.m.-9 p.m.; Friday & Saturday 9 a.m.-5 p.m.; Sunday 1 p.m.-5 p.m.
Non-profit organization throughout the community decorate and display their own unique tree.  The "Mitten Tree" will be back and you are invited to decorate it with mittens, gloves, hats, and scarves all of which will be donated to the Salvation Army.

Farmer's Market Christmas Craft Show
Farmer's Market on Cook Avenue  256-532-1661
8 a.m.-5 p.m. daily.  No admission charge.
Purchase seasonal fruits, nuts and vegetables along with handmade3 crafts, baked goods, homemade jellies and jams, and other goodies.

Northeast AL Craftsmen's Association Craft Show
Von Braun Center--South Hall
700 Monroe Street, Huntsville  256-837-3195
Friday and Saturday 9 a.m.-7 p.m.; Sunday Noon-5 p.m.  No admission charge.
Wide variety of holiday gifts including needlework, ceramics, floral arrangements, jewelry, decorated and hand-woven baskets, woodwork, stained glass, pottery, clothes and toys.

"A Christmas Carol"  Fantasy Playhouse

Tickets are $12 for adults; $8 for children.
This Dickens classic has become a holiday tradition in Huntsville and  has sold out for the last ten years.  Advance ticket sales available ONLY at the Fantasy Playhouse Office, Monday-Friday 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
