Early Works Museum's display included the history of Huntsville in pictures.    Dennis Water Cress Co. gave away free samples of Water Cress (Huntsville was once the Water Cress Capital of the World) and information on the local specialty.  Cotton is also a thriving business for farmers in Alabama.

Many local authors were at the Festival selling autographed copies of their books.

Tom and Cathey Carney, of Old Huntsville Magazine were selling copies of their books, cookbooks, and pictorial CD's.

Sarah Fisk is widely known in Huntsville for her books and illustrations of Huntsville's history, including "Civilization Comes to Big Spring:  Huntsville, Alabama 1823."

Barbara Lauster of the Weeden House Museum was on hand to give out information on the museum, Maria Howard Weeden, and sell the "Twickenham Tables" Cookbook.

Whenever Huntsville decides to celebrate its heritage, a crowd of interested people and vendors can always be counted on to show up.

For more information on the Huntsville-Madison County Historical Society, you can write them at P.O. Box 666, Huntsville AL  35804.  Membership is $10/individual or $18/family.
