The whole atmosphere at The Lilypad Tea Room is summed up in their slogan: "Pause and let us pamper you." The menu changes daily and includes entrees such as Hawaiian Pork Loin with Chutney or curried chicken. Side items might be corn pudding or seasoned rice.
The Froggy Fiesta Soup is the Lilypad's most popular soup. It's a tangy, taco-tasting blend of turkey, beans and tomatoes. I had some and it was really good.
Other selections include soup du jour and 1/2 hot ham and cheese sandwich, chicken quesadilla, California chicken salad and chef salad. They have a salad named "Walk on the Wildside" which has chunks of feta cheese, grilled Portabella mushrooms, poached pears and toasted pecans with a raspberry vinaigrette. The tea room also features a Black-eyed Pea Salad, Lima Bean Soup, Wild Rice Chicken Salad, and Wasabi-seared Salmon Steak.
Desserts include Oatmeal Bread with Apples and Raisins, Key Lime Pie, Holy Cow Chocolate Cake, Fudge Pie with ice cream or Pecan Pie with a dip of vanilla bean ice cream. A new item for the Lilypad is the Lilypad Tea Time. For $5.75 you can have a cup of soup du jour, New York cucumbers sandwiches, chicken salad on a bed of lettuce and three different "tea time" dessert treasures.
Prices are very reasonable with most lunch items priced at $5.95. The tea room is open weekdays from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. The Lilypad serves a Saturday brunch from 10-1 p.m. where you can order "green eggs and ham" for the "tadpoles." They are also opened Friday and Saturday nights from 5-9 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. The Lilypad Tea Room can hold private parties for up to 75. I'm giving the Lilypad Tea Room a five thumbs up. It's certainly worth a hop over to Fayetteville!
