CAMPBELL--WOODROOF--HILL--POLLARD
HOUSE
This Federal period house was built around 1826. A
document hanging in house was given to the Woodroof family during the occupation
of Mooresville and states: "Headquarters, Provisional Detachment,
Wilder's Brigade, Mooresville, Alabama, November 22, 1865. The house and
premises of J. W. Woodroof is protected from search for arms, etc., etc.,
against the officers and men of this command as to our certain knowledge, he
possesses nothing in the way of arms or war."
