Jon Jon Briones has traveled all over the world performing the role of "The Engineer" (I'm still not sure why he's nicknamed that!). He was in the original cast of the London show. Briones steals the show with his wit, charm and charisma. He offers comic relief to an otherwise dismal situation. The audience falls in love for this small shyster whose only goal in life seems to be to get a visa and travel to America to live. His dancing is outstanding and a joy to see. The night I went to "Miss Saigon," Jennifer Paz was portraying Kim, the 17-year old lover of the U.S. Marine, Chris, played by Alan Gillespie. Paz performance was delicate, innocent and sensitive. Gillespie made us care about the young couple and wish for their love story to end happily. The whole cast did a great job and the scenes with the armies were spectacular. The ensemble dance numbers were creative and entertaining.
