Tips, Tricks and Secrets to Living in
Huntsville
|
 |
|
There are a lot of things to learn about a city in order to live there
successfully. Sometimes it takes years to find out some of the
"secrets" and tricks to living a good life. I share tips in
every issue of my free weekly
email newsletter.
If you know some good tips,
please send them to me via email. I
hope you find something useful to you here and feel more at home in Huntsville.
Tips for Week of February 3,
2005
THINGS I LEARNED THIS WEEK:
-
Are
you watching American Idol? If
so, you might see a familiar face: Ryan Patrick Parker, a 1994
graduate of Lee High School's Vocal Magnet Program. He's one of those going
to Hollywood!.
-
If
you'd like to go to the Huntsville Symphony's Mainly
Mozart concert this weekend, just call the HSO office at
256.539.4818 and mention About.com to
get half price tickets.
-
Speaking
of the Symphony: there are a limited
number of $395 Golden Circle tickets and $200 seats available in the
prime area of section A for the Feb. 26th Yo Yo Ma concert. The rest
of the Concert Hall has been sold out since last November.
-
Shopper's
alert: There's a new Tuesday
Morning store at Crossroads Mall in Albertville that just opened
this week.
-
The
Year of Alabama Food web site features recipes, a list of food
festivals, restaurants and profiles of Alabama Tourism's top culinary
ambassadors. The Alabama Association of Convention & Visitor Bureaus and
the state tourism agency are sponsoring a statewide chef cook-off to
produce The Official State Dish.
Deadline for receiving recipes is March 2005. Regional competitions will be
held in May in Huntsville, Birmingham, Auburn and Fairhope.
