Huntsville
|
 |
|
There are a lot of things to learn about a city in order to live there
successfully. Sometimes it takes years to find out some of the
"secrets" and tricks to living a good life. I share tips in
every issue of my weekly
newsletter.
If you know some good tips,
please send them to me via email. I
hope you find something useful to you here and feel more at home in Huntsville.
Tips for Week of April 29,
2004
THINGS I LEARNED THIS WEEK:
-
According
to the National Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse at Columbia
University, teens who ate dinner five to seven times a week with their
families were 45% LESS LIKELY to try alcohol, 24% LESS APT to smoke
marijuana and 67% MORE LIKELY to get A's compared with kids who never or
rarely dined with their families.
-
C.
T. Garvin Feed & Seed (corner of Holmes & Pulaski Pike) is a
wonderful old-fashioned store, selling bulk garden seeds, a variety of dog
& wild bird supplies, windsocks, plants, and even gourmet
chocolate!
-
Andrew
Willmon of Broadway Theatre League gave me these hints for next season:
"No one dies! All the shows will be lighthearted & fun. Four of the
six shows have never been to Huntsville before." Season announced June
1st.
