Tips for Week of June 3, 2004

THINGS I LEARNED THIS WEEK:

When we lived in Iowa and visited Huntsville on vacation, my kids always wanted to go to the flea markets since we didn't have flea markets in Iowa. Here's a list of some of the flea markets I know about in the area.

  • Builder's Square Flea Market (indoors) opened recently on North Parkway and Max Luther Drive. Part of store is open all week; part only on weekends.

  • Limestone Flea Market (indoors) on Highway 72 is open on Saturday & Sunday year round.

  • First Monday in Scottsboro (outdoors) is the first weekend of every month. It started when farmers came to town and traded their goods around the Courthouse Square on the First Monday of every month.

  • Mountain Top Flea Market (outdoors) is in Attalla off US Hwy 278 W and opened on Saturdays.

  • Collinsville Trade Days (outdoors) is open on Saturdays with hundreds of vendors. (6) Dog Day Flea Market is open every Sunday & Monday in Ardmore, Tennessee....enjoy looking for bargains & treasures!
