There are a lot of things to learn about a city in order to live there successfully.  Sometimes it takes years to find out some of the "secrets" and tricks to living a good life.  I share tips in every issue of my weekly newsletter

If you know some good tips, please send them to me via email. I hope you find something useful to you here and feel more at home in Huntsville.

Tips for Week of July 8, 2004

THINGS I LEARNED THIS WEEK:

  • Okay, someone had to do it, so I did: I taste-tested Mayfield's "Snow Cream" frozen dessert. Not too bad. It does taste a little like the real thing and is probably our only choice until we get another one of our rare snowfalls, especially in July!

  • Taco Bell has a new Big Bell Value Menu, plus some new items like Caramel Apple Empanada and some kind of potato product (sorry I didn't get the name).

  •  For fans of FlyLady (helping you to get your housework organized), there's a Huntsville Mailing List Support Group you might want to join.

  • Best Buy has a "Reward Zone" Card you can purchase for $10. You earn 100 points for "nearly" every dollar you spend. You get $5 reward certificate for 12,500 points.

  • National Wildlife Federation will help you create a thriving habitat for wildlife in your yard and certify it as an official Backyard Wildlife Habitat site.
