Tips, Tricks and Secrets to Living in
Huntsville
|
 |
|
There are a lot of things to learn about a city in order to live there
successfully. Sometimes it takes years to find out some of the
"secrets" and tricks to living a good life. I share tips in
every issue of my weekly
newsletter.
If you know some good tips,
please send them to me via email. I
hope you find something useful to you here and feel more at home in Huntsville.
Tips for Week of July 29,
2004
THINGS I LEARNED THIS WEEK:
-
Just
in time for back to school shopping, the Georgia sales tax free holiday will
be from July 29-August 1 2004. It is designed for the individual consumer
and personal use only. You might want to go over the state line this weekend
and check it out. Find out about exceptions before you purchase.
-
The
Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children
(WIC) regulations require public
comment from interested individuals in the writing of the 2005 State
Plan of Program Operations by August 9, 2004.
-
For
the past two years in a row, "Southern Business and
Development" magazine named Alabama its "state of the
year" for the improvement in its economic conditions.
"There are very few states, if any, in the U.S.," wrote the
magazine, "turning as many significant job-making announcements per
capita than Alabama right now."
-
Limestone
Bay Trading Company, Inc. is a new restaurant in Mooresville. It's open
Monday thru Friday from 11 to 2 p.m. One friend told me: "it has great
food, great prices and 'the best dessert I've ever had'!" I'm checking
this one out!
-
Although
I was born & raised in Huntsville, I've never had a fried pickle.
I finally found one on the menu at Alabama Roadhouse--they are quite
tasty!
