Tips, Tricks and Secrets to Living in
Huntsville
|
 |
|
There are a lot of things to learn about a city in order to live there
successfully. Sometimes it takes years to find out some of the
"secrets" and tricks to living a good life. I share tips in
every issue of my weekly
newsletter.
If you know some good tips,
please send them to me via email. I
hope you find something useful to you here and feel more at home in Huntsville.
Tips for Week of September 9,
2004
THINGS I LEARNED THIS WEEK:
-
The
Board of Burritt on the Mountain is sponsoring "Tea at the
Ledges" on Sept. 19th. Check calendar for details on making
reservations.
-
You
can opt out of receiving credit card applications. Just call
(888)567-8688. This is a toll-free, automated call. Be prepared to give your
name, address and Social Security number. These credit reporting agencies
already have that information, and stating it on the phone simply identifies
you. You will have the choice of opting out for two years or for your
lifetime.
-
A
new Movie Gallery opened August 20 in the strip mall on Cecil Ashburn
Drive. They have a drawing to win free rentals for a year!
-
Huntsville's
first Alabama Outdoors store which carries high-end specialty
camping, hiking, climbing and outdoor apparel, is open in the Cecil Ashburn
strip mall.
-
Time
to register for the Sept. 18th Run for Charity 5K benefiting The
Community Free Clinic. The run is at Monte Sano State Park. Details on the
Events Calendar.
-
I
always knew that Alabama had a lot of pretty women--single or married. The
2004 Mrs. Alabama, Julie Love Templeton of Tuscaloosa, was crowned Mrs.
America Sept. 7th. The pageant will be broadcast Sept. 17 on PAX-TV. Our
own Huntsville resident, Stacie Willis was Mrs.
America 2000.
