THINGS I LEARNED THIS WEEK:

• Almost all subjects chosen to appear on U.S. stamps and postal stationery are suggested by the public. If you have an idea for a stamp, contact the Citizens' Stamp Advisory Committee. 

• Huntsville Botanical Garden has won the "Shining Example" Award from the Southeast Tourism Society as Travel Attraction of the Year.

• The Kitty Kat Twirlers in Gurley are selling Huntsville area coupon books to raise money to compete in Orlando, Fla. The coupon books are $10 each and have over $1400 worth of savings.
