Tips, Tricks and Secrets to Living in
Huntsville
|
 |
|
There are a lot of things to learn about a city in order to live there
successfully. Sometimes it takes years to find out some of the
"secrets" and tricks to living a good life. I share tips in
every issue of my weekly
newsletter.
If you know some good tips,
please send them to me via email. I
hope you find something useful to you here and feel more at home in Huntsville.
Tips for Week of December 11,
2003
THINGS I LEARNED THIS WEEK:
-
One
readers shares a good place for Christmas shopping. "Magnolia
Marketplace in Madison is a great shop for interiors and gifts. It has the
Michael Simon ornaments- decorated sweaters, shoes and purses. The shop is
on Hwy 72W at Hughes Rd. in the center with Publix."

From
John Tesh's "Intelligence for Your Life" newsletter: As it turns
out, hot cocoa really is good for you. It has more disease fighting
antioxidants than red wine or green tea. Cocoa is loaded with the vitamins
that fight heart disease and cancer - vitamins C and E and beta-carotene.
Vitamins that may even prevent Alzheimer's disease, or at least slow it
down. They can also slow down the aging process. Researchers from Cornell
University say a cup of cocoa is three times better than green tea and five
times better than black tea in terms of the amount of antioxidants you get.
Cold chocolate milk contains all the vitamins as well, but hot cocoa is the
better way to go because more of these antioxidants are released when it's
hot.
