Tips, Tricks and Secrets to Living in
Huntsville
|
 |
|
There are a lot of things to learn about a city in order to live there
successfully. Sometimes it takes years to find out some of the
"secrets" and tricks to living a good life. I share tips in
every issue of my free weekly
email newsletter.
If you know some good tips,
please send them to me via email. I
hope you find something useful to you here and feel more at home in Huntsville.
Tips for Week of December 30,
2004
THINGS I LEARNED THIS WEEK:
-
In
the Huntsville Symphony Orchestra's newsletter this week, along with holiday
wishes, they offered a free pair of tickets to the New Year's Eve
Concert to the first 4 people that replied to the newsletter. I got lucky
and won a pair. You might want to subscribe
to their newsletter list in case they do this kind of thing again.
In the meantime, you can call 256-539-4818 for tickets and say you read
about the concert on About.com, and you'll receive 20% off on your ticket
purchase. Offer not available on the website. The office is open 9-5 on
Thursday and Friday.
-
For
Christmas tree recycling information, call the Huntsville
Botanical Garden at 256-830-4447.
-
You
can donate old cell phones to Crisis
Services of North Alabama, so they can give them to domestic
violence victims. The phones can still call 911--even when they're not
activated. To donate a cell phone call (256) 716-4052.
-
You
can recycle old electronics, computers, etc. (which are harmful to the
environment) at The Technology Recycling Center on Madison Blvd. in Madison.
For more information, call 256-464-7985.
-
You
can now find the 2005
NASA launch schedule online.
-
Happy
New Year--May 2005 be even better than 2004!
